240 - 250 McKinnon Road, McKinnon
My name is [insert your full name]. I reside/own the property at [insert your address].
I wish to object to the above application on the following basis:
- Six-storey height is excessive for neighbourhood (lesser) activity centre and located on the of southern side of McKinnon Road. By comparison the interim height controls recently implemented for the nearby Major Bentleigh Activity Centre, Centre Road (which runs parallel with McKinnon Road centre) are:
*Northern side of Centre Road – five stories
- Laneway use as primary vehicle access is not supported by Council Policy
- Already high demand for on street parking - inappropriate to waiver car parking requirements
- Increased traffic congestion
- Inappropriate waiver of loading bay requirement
- Visual bulk and dominance.
- Internal Amenity – poor access to natural light (via light courts/light wells)
- Building design and façade not in keeping with local character
- Overshadowing and Overlooking of adjoining properties located in the GRZ2 (three storey height limit)
- Increased strain on infrastructure
- Inadequate open space to accommodate additional population
I therefore request that council reassess the proposal and I also wish to be advised of any consultation meetings.
